Cosmetic Tattoo/Blushing Aftercare Information

While the treatment itself is a critical component of achieving optimal results, the post-treatment healing process and adherence to aftercare instructions are equally important.

Appropriate aftercare directly influences pigment retention, colour stability, and overall healing outcomes. Understanding the expected stages of healing and following the recommended care guidelines helps support even healing and long-lasting results. The following information outlines what to expect throughout the healing process and the essential steps required to protect and maintain your eyebrow tattoo and lip blushing.

What to do post Cosmetic Tatooing/Blushing

  • Moisture & Products

Do not wet the tattooed/blushed or apply any skincare, makeup, or additional products to the area for 10 days.

  • Touching & Picking

Touching, rubbing, scratching, or picking the tattooed/blushed area throughout the healing period is prohibited.

  • Sweat & Heat

Avoid heavy sweating and high-intensity exercise for 10 days. This is an ideal time to take a short break from the gym.

  • Sun & Water Exposure

Avoid sun exposure, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms for four months following treatment.

  • Straw

If you have had lip blushing, we recommend using a straw to drink through.

Cleansing & Aftercare

3–4 hours after treatment, gently cleanse the tattooed/blushed area once using boiled & cooled water and a clean cotton round. Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare using a cotton tip only. Repeat this process 3-4 times daily for seven days. Avoid over-application or product build-up. If there is build up, wipe using boiled but cooled water and a clean cotton pad.

TRUST THE PROCESS

Healing following cosmetic tattooing/blushing is a gradual process and can take up to 30 days, progressing through several distinct stages. During this time, it is normal to experience changes such as flaking, temporary lightening or fading of pigment, and uneven appearance as the skin regenerates.

These changes are a normal part of the healing response and do not reflect the final outcome. It is essential to allow the full healing period and attend the recommended second appointment at six weeks, during which any areas requiring refinement or pigment adjustment can be professionally assessed and perfected.

What to expect after Cosmetic Tattooing

  • Day 1:

Expect near desired result with colour being slightly darker than the final colour.

  • Day 2-4:

Expect the tattooed/blushed area to look very dark and thick.

  • Day 5-7:

Expect the tattooed/blushed area to be flaky. It is imperative that you do not pick at this area.

  • Day 8-10:

Expect the tattooed/blushed area to appear lighter than the final colour.

  • 7+ Days:

Until your follow up appointment (session 2) expect the tattooed area to be patchy.
